ABOUT PRES2019

The World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) in collaboration with Global 100% RE and the Alternatives Energy Development Board of Pakistan (AEDB) brings you Pakistan’s first ever international level summit on Renewable Energy technologies. The WWEA which has been operational in Pakistan since 2013, strongly advocates utilizing the limitless potential of renewable energy technologies particularly wind and solar energy to power Pakistan’s future. The summit aims to advance energy transition to renewable sources in Pakistan. It features one of the largest convening of renewable technology experts from around the world including local and foreign energy experts, senior government officials, and prominent international dignitaries from the renewable energy sector, foreign donors, business community leaders, intellectuals, researchers, students and public figures

WHY YOU SHOULD BECOME A PART OF PRES2019

At present Pakistan is at the cusp of rapid economic growth due to which it faces energy challenges of varying depths. The energy sector is heavily dependent on fuel oil which is imported from other countries adding pressure to an already strained economy. Since globally the push for green and sustainable energy technologies is gaining momentum, it is imperative that Pakistan joins ranks of the countries supplementing their energy demands with renewable energy sources. PRES2019 Summit offers a unique opportunity to discuss and debate issues pertaining to the development of the renewable energy sector in the country from an international, national and local perspective. Over the course of the two-day conference, a host of local and foreign intellectuals and speakers will deliberate upon the potential for integrating and promoting renewable energy technologies in the power sector.

The objectives of the summit align with the government’s mandate to supplement 30% of Pakistan’s power need through renewables by 2030.
